Olli Hess – Intense Edition Plus Friction Mallet
The Olli Hess Intense Edition Plus Friction Mallet is designed for super precise, long-lasting gong tones with beautiful depth and detail. With its finely roughened surface and updated handle material, it creates a rich, steady friction sound with medium to low tones and very fine, layered nuances. The maker describes it as “enormously multi-faceted” and especially suited to long, constant sounds.
This mallet is a lovely choice for meditation, sound baths, and more focused gong playing where control and consistency matter. Compared with the standard Intense line, the Plus version has a thicker handle and an even finer surface design, helping the player maintain a steady, intense frequency for longer periods. It is suitable for gongs from 40 cm to 2 metres overall.
