Your gong is a sacred instrument.
Care & Use
Each strike sends vibrations that carry your energy. Take a moment to ground yourself before playing. Gentle, mindful strikes allow the sound to open naturally and protect the gong’s surface from stress or damage.
Soft or medium mallets help draw out deep, resonant layers without creating harsh overtones. Hard mallets or sharp impacts can leave marks or affect the metal’s vibration. Choose your mallet size according to the gong’s diameter, larger gongs need heavier, softer heads for full resonance.
After use, wipe the surface gently with a dry microfiber cloth to remove oils, dust, and fingerprints. Avoid water, chemical cleaners, or rough fabrics, they can dull or scratch the finish. If your gong is bronze or brass, an occasional light polish (using a product made for musical instruments) can restore shine.
When not in session, keep your gong in a soft padded bag or cover to protect it from dust, humidity, and accidental knocks. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, moisture, or extreme temperature changes.
"The gong sounds absolutely incredible. You can feel the vibration move through your whole body. Thank you."
