Anatomy & Physiology for On-Body Sound Work
This course gives students a broad, practical overview of the human body and its main systems, with a clear focus on how this knowledge relates to sound healing, vibration, resonance, and therapeutic sound treatments.
Rather than teaching anatomy in a dry or overly clinical way, this course connects body knowledge to real sound work. Students will explore how sound and vibration may interact with the body through touch, pressure, listening, relaxation, breath, the nervous system, and the body’s natural response to rest and sensory input.
The course explores the body’s main systems, including the skin and sensory system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, and reproductive system.
Each system is explored in a simple and practical way. Students will learn what the system does, why it matters, and how it may be relevant when working with instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, drums, tuning forks, voice, and other vibrational tools.
The course also looks at key ideas such as vibration, pressure, resonance, fascia, bone conduction, breath, relaxation responses, safety, consent, and the importance of working within a clear scope of practice.
This course is suitable for sound therapists, holistic practitioners, yoga and meditation teachers, bodyworkers, and anyone who wants to better understand the body in relation to sound and vibration.
By the end of the course, students will have a stronger foundation in anatomy and physiology and a clearer understanding of why body awareness matters in sound healing and on-body sound work.
