Anatomy and Physiology for On Body Sound Work - Online Course
Access details arrive by email after checkout. Watch on any device, at your own pace.
A broad, practical overview of the human body and its main systems, written for people who work with sound. Rather than teaching anatomy in a dry, clinical way, this online course connects body knowledge to real sound work: how sound and vibration may interact with the body through touch, pressure, listening, relaxation, breath, the nervous system and the body's natural response to rest and sensory input.
Each system is explored simply and practically: what it does, why it matters, and how it may be relevant when working with Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, drums, tuning forks, voice and other vibrational tools.
- Systems covered: skin and sensory, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive
- Key ideas: vibration, pressure, resonance, fascia, bone conduction, breath, relaxation responses, safety, consent and scope of practice
- Suits: sound therapists, holistic practitioners, yoga and meditation teachers, bodyworkers, and anyone curious about the body in relation to sound and vibration
By the end of the course you will have a stronger foundation in anatomy and physiology, and a clearer sense of why body awareness matters in sound healing and on-body sound work.
Working towards the qualification
This online course can be taken on its own, as study in its own right.
Taken together with Weekend Two (Level Two) in person at Revival Harmony, it leads to the Anatomy and Physiology for On Body Sound Work qualification. That qualification is certified by IPHM and can be used to obtain insurance for sound work.
Weekend Two is the specific in-person weekend you need for this pathway. If you would like to complete it, or you are not sure which level you are at, get in touch and we will point you to the next available dates.
Not sure which one to choose? Call 061 424 765, WhatsApp 089 985 1601 or email harmony@revival.ie and we will point you the right way.
You can also book a 90 minute consultation in the studio and play instruments before you decide. The €200 fee is credited against anything you buy on the day.
