Cálix A/E - Somni Sounds
The Cálix is a sculptural instrument from Somni Sounds that answers movement with sound. Move it as it rings and the tone modulates around you, wrapping the room in shifting harmonics. Each one is handcrafted from a harmonically rich aluminium alloy, its form and angles honed with micrometric tuning for rich overtones and crystal-clear sustain.
This Cálix is tuned A/E, its two central notes a perfect fifth apart, an interval long associated with a settled, relaxed feeling. A beautiful voice for sound healing sessions, sound therapy, meditation, yoga and dance.
